Attack on Titan Illustration Contest
ENGLISH TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Kodansha Ltd. (hereafter referred to as the Company) will hold the Attack on Titan Illustration Contest (hereafter referred to as the contest) at pixiv, the web community platform for illustrators that is run by pixiv Inc. Attack on Titan is also known as Shingeki no Kyojin. 1. Eligible Participants This contest is open to all registered pixiv users who have read and agreed to these terms and conditions. Entries from contestants related to the Company and any affiliated teams will not be accepted. Contestants under 18 years old should obtain parental consent before entering. Contestant must be the individual author of the submitted work. 2. Submission Period Friday, August 9th to Tuesday, September 17th 2013 23:59 Japan Standard Time 3. Participation Method To enter, illustrations must be created by you and are required to fit into a category below. You must upload the illustrations to pixiv and attach the proper contest tag to enter. (1) General category Your illustration must include topics or characters relating to the manga or anime of Attack on Titan. Contest Tag: 進撃の巨人イラコン (2) Original Titan Category Your illustration must include an originally designed titan. It cannot be of any existing titan. Contest Tag: 僕の考えた巨人 By doing the above, you will have entered the contest. 4. Submission Format Web Format Size: There are no size restrictions for entry into the contest. Number of Submissions: You may submit more than 1 entry, as long as they are not duplicate entries. 【Contest Terms】 ※Your entry may be disqualified if: ・It does not match the theme of the contest. ・It does not have the contest tag attached. ・The privacy level of your entry is set to “My pixiv” or “Private.” ・It is a repost of a previous illustration or is not submitted within the time frame of the contest. ・Rules listed in part 6 “Contest Terms (1)” of this document applies to your entry or entries. 5. Selection Process Entries will go through a rigorous judging process before winners are decided.   Prizes: ◇General Category An illustrated print signed by Hajime Isayama. ◇Original Titan Category An illustrated print signed by Hajime Isayama. 6. Contest Terms Your submission will serve as an acceptance of the terms outlined throughout this entire document. Please be sure you have read them before submitting your entry. If there are any discrepancies with this document and the Japanese Terms and Conditions, the Japanese Terms and Conditions will serve as the true document. (1) If your entry, including your nickname, falls into the statements below, you will be disqualified. The Company (Kodansha Ltd.) reserves the right to disqualify a work if the work is determined to be in violation of the rules even after having been selected as a winner. ・Works that violate the ownership rights of The Company (Kodansha Ltd.), pixiv Inc, pixiv users and other third parties; as well as intellectual property rights, including copyright, privilege, trust, and other privacy rights. ・Works that contain obscenity, torture, discrimination, explicit sexual themes, and other elements that are potentially offensive. ・Works that violate public order and morals. ・Works that aren’t public or are unsuitable for public display will have The Company (Kondansha Ltd.) decide if it qualifies for the contest or not. ・Any works based on existing work/goods, works/goods scheduled to be released, works/goods that have already been submitted for other contests, or works/goods that have already won other contests. ・Works that miss/break a rule or miss a required part will also be disqualified. ・Works that The Company (Kodansha Ltd.) finds disagreeable with adequate reason may also be disqualified. (2) Contestants own all right to their artwork/creations, however if a winning work is chosen to be used by The Company (Kodansha Ltd.), the rights and ownership will be transferred to Kodansha Ltd to print it in its magazine periodicals, special books, web, and other publications.   (3) Winners will not exercise “author’s personal rights” against The Company (Kodansha Ltd.) as well as The Company’s (Kodansha Ltd.) related parties. (4) Contestants will not be informed when the selection results are announced. All results will be announced on pixiv’s and Kodansha’s websites. Winners’ work and pixiv nicknames may be announced on pixiv’s official Twitter, Facebook, and other social network accounts as well as published in Kodansha’s sites, Comic Plus and other magazines or books. (5) Contestants, regardless if they win or not, may have their entries, pixiv nicknames, and other related items to the contest, posted to pixiv’s official Twitter, Facebook, and other social network accounts as well as published in Kodansha’s sites, Comic Plus, displayed at exhibitions,  and other magazines or books. Work will be displayed at exhibitions at contestant’s consent. The Company (Kodansha) and pixiv may adapt or minorly edit the work.   (6) Contestants who remove their entries during the contest will forfeit the contest and their work will no longer be accepted as an entry. (7) The Company (Kodansha Ltd.) will not be responsible for any charges contestants may incur during the submission of their entry. (8) The Company (Kodansha Ltd.)  will use the contest information solely for the purpose of communicating with the contestants during the selection process. The Company (Kodansha, Ltd.) will protect individuals’ information according to their privacy policy. 7.Disclaimer (1) Contestants assume responsibility for their own submissions. (2) The Company (Kodansha Ltd.) will not be responsible for any disputes that may happen between the contestants and other users, regardless of reason. (3) The Company (Kodansha Ltd.)  reserves the right to suspend or terminate the contest in case the Company or pixiv Inc. deems it necessary for any reason, including system maintenance. (4) The Company (Kodansha Ltd.)  will not be liable for any damages incurred by the contestants, including but not limited to contest interruption, suspension, or cancellation. (5) Determined by the true terms and conditions including the disclaimers, the Company (Kodansha Ltd.)  will be not responsible for any direct damages caused by willful misconduct or gross negligence caused during the contest period, regardless of immunity. 8.Contest Related Support Issues (1) If you have any questions or feedback about the contest, feel free contact us here. (2) Please include your email address, nickname, inquiry, and the subject “About Attack on Titan Contest" before submitting your support request. (3) Replies will not be given to any phone calls regarding support issues. (4) Replies will not be given to any questions regarding the contest results. 9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction The contest and its terms shall be governed by Japanese law. Furthermore, the Tokyo District Court shall be the mutually-agreed court for any proceedings, with jurisdiction for the preliminary trial in the case of any disputes over contest terms or matters between the Company (Kodansha Ltd.)  and the contestants.
