Starting August 30th, the BOX-AiR Anime Illustration Contest 2013 starts!
Kodansha BOX’s editorial team worked on the digital magazine, BOX-AiR’s rookie of the year contest which discovered fresh talent and are also running the contest this year.
The contest will award the BOX-AiR Rookie Award to fresh new character designs and artists who love illustrating frontispieces for novels and other books. The winner of the
first BOX-AiR Anime Illustration Contest,
Ayaki had their illustration used as the cover of Aruvu Rezuru (Created by Yuu Yamaguchi) and the series became a short film animation as a part of the Anime Mirai Project. Next time it could be your work!
This contest is for people who want to professionally debut.

【Contest Theme】
A perfect time to take a photo: “Shutter Chance!”
Illustrate a perfect photo moment, where if someone was holding the camera, they’d want to click the shutter. The moment could be personal or an imaginary scene of meeting a person or looking at a spectacular view.

【Selection Process】
Entries will be judged by Kodansha BOX’s editorial team, AiR, and Star Child. The winners will be selected after a rigorous review of all the entries.
【Grand Prize Winner】
・Debut by illustrating a cover for the BOX-AiR short story Rookie winner
・Your winning entry featured on the front cover of BOX-AiR volume 32
※Winners that will be requested to have their work be used on covers for special short stories will be compensated fairly.
※If your work, which was attached to a short story novel, becomes a candidate to become an animation, you may be requested to assist in designing the character for animation.
※After winning (around early October), you will be expected to start working on the front cover illustration as soon as possible.

・Special BOX designed book card, usable at any bookstore in Japan.
