Original work and fan art are both okay.
There are no restrictions on the size of the artwork for web submission.
Only All-Ages works are accepted.
Works that were entirely or largely generated by AI must be marked as "AI-generated work". Creators are allowed to submit one AI-generated work per person. Contestants who enter more than one AI-generated work will be disqualified.

Novels category

There are no format restrictions (short story, long story, series, etc.) on the novels you can submit. However, there should only be one work (one series) per submission. You can submit unfinished works. Only All-Ages works are accepted. Both original works and fanfiction are okay. In addition to novels, you can also submit tanka, haiku, and other types of poetry. ■Reasons for this revision

The latter half of the sentence, “that can be interpreted as sexual content”, was deleted from the original guidelines to prohibit users from posting the following content: 1. Photo-realistic images that can be interpreted as sexual or cruel content based on context, even though at first they might not seem that way, regardless of how they are created. ・E.g.: Depictions of minors so photo-realistic that they could be mistaken for real persons, depictions of minors in swimsuits, diapers, etc. 2. Photo-realistic depictions intended to violate human rights, manipulate information, or cause chaos in society. ・E.g.: Images depicting actually-existing minors drinking, real politicians/celebrities being arrested, scenes of non-existent battlefields and disasters, solicitation of investment scams, etc. pixiv has always considered these posts undesirable and dealt with them appropriately (e.g. deleting them) as soon as discovered. However, before the guidelines were revised, we did not have sufficient basis to justify our actions. We have revised the guidelines to address a broader category, consistent with the action taken, and to prevent any new posts of this kind. To keep things wholesome, we had no choice but to revise the guidelines to “Real-life photographs or photo-realistic images” to target a broader category. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We have seen comments from our community questioning whether posts using art styles and techniques such as hyperrealism will also be prohibited. We decided to address this issue with this announcement to clear any possible doubts. pixiv does not prohibit posts based on art styles and techniques such as hyperrealism, and as stated in our previous announcement, no changes have been made to how the prohibited posts are handled. Starting from April 10th, 2024, if creators pause all their Request terms, their profiles will display a "Requests closed" badge and a "Notify me when they reopen Requests" button.

About the "Requests closed" badge

This badge indicates that the creator has paused all their Request terms. Starting from the feature's release date, it will automatically be displayed on the creator's profile if they have suspended all their Request terms.

For creators who have paused all Request terms by April 10th, 2024, or earlier

If you've already paused all your Request terms before this date, you'll need to activate this badge yourself. You can do so at any time from the "Manage requests" page. Without your action, the "Requests closed" badge and the "Notify me when they reopen Requests" button will not appear on your profile.

About the "Notify me when they reopen Requests" button

This button allows you to get notified when a creator reopens Requests. Notifications will appear in the top-right corner of pixiv's website and also be sent via e-mail. With this feature, you'll be the first to know when a creator resumes accepting Requests. Rest assured that pressing the "Notify me when they reopen Requests" button will not share your personal information with the creator.

This feature allows you to select any passage from your posted novels and create eye-catching images to share on social media to draw more readers to your stories. What’s new

In addition to making the feature permanent, we've implemented four updates based on feedback received during the feature's limited-time release.

① A total of 30 templates to choose from

In addition to the 6 templates offered during the limited-time release, we've added 24 new ones for a total of 30 templates to choose from. Find the perfect template for your work and have fun creating images to share! * The haiku templates specific to the Illustrated Haiku Contest held during the limited-time release are not included in this renewal.

② Horizontal text option available
