The pixiv novels 13th Anniversary contest “Novel 13" starts on Friday, July 28th, 2023.
On July 29th, 2023, pixiv novels welcomed its 13th anniversary!
To celebrate, we're looking for stories revolving around the number 13.

Anything goes, from original novels to essays, scripts, and fan fiction.
We're looking forward to reading your work!

The winners of the Grand Prize and the Awards of Excellence will have a QR code that links to the award-winning work's pixiv page, along with the title and author's name, printed on specially produced original playing cards.
The winner of the Grand Prize (1 winner in the Original category) will get 13 assorted writing support items and pixiv novels 13th Anniversary original playing cards. The winners of the Award of Excellence (16 winners) will get pixiv novels 13th Anniversary original playing cards and grape juice. The winners of the pixiv Award (13 winners from each category) will get pixiv novels 13th Anniversary original playing cards.

Entry Period:
From Friday, July 28th to Sunday, September 3rd, 2023, 11:59 pm JST


Theme:
Novels under the theme "13" will be accepted.
The contents, genre, and other details of the setting are totally up to you.

Entry format:
Word limit: Minimum 500 characters. No upper limit. (Based on the pixiv posting page.)
Post limit: You can post more than one work (However, you cannot post the same work multiple times.)
Content: Only original works will be accepted in the Original category. (Make sure to check the "Original work" box when posting your entry). Both original works and fan fiction will be accepted in the Freestyle category.
Age restriction: All-Ages
AI-generated work: Works that were entirely or largely generated by AI must be marked as "AI-generated work". AI-generated works are not eligible for the Original category. For the Freestyle category, creators are allowed to submit one AI-generated work per person. Contestants who enter more than one AI-generated work will be disqualified.
pixiv privacy settings: Public
Language: Any

* You cannot participate in the contest with a single part in a series of posts. You can participate with a series so long as you include the contest tags in the first part of that series, and the entire series is part of the submission. You can also post a completed work as a one-shot and not part of a series.

* Works that will be considered as submitted works will be limited to previously unreleased works and works that do not copy or alter the work of a third party.

* Do not update, revise, delete, make private, update the series information, or add entries to the series from the end of the application period until the selection results are announced. Also, please do not delete or make private the award-winning works even after the announcement of the selection results.

Others:
The following conditions apply to the Original category.

・Entries that are still unfinished at the end of the contest period will be disqualified.
・Only original, previously unpublished works to which the user holds the copyrights will be accepted.

・Do not delete your entries or set them to Private until the results of the selection have been announced. In addition, winning works must not be deleted or set to Private even after the results of the selection.


Eligible Participants:
This contest is open to all registered pixiv users who have read and agreed to these terms and conditions.
* Entries from companies and multiple creators will not be accepted.
* Underage contestants should obtain the consent of a guardian before entering.
Contest Terms:
Works that fall under the conditions listed below may be disqualified.
・Not matching the theme of the contest.
・Not having the contest tag attached.
・Setting the privacy level of your entry to “My pixiv”, “Private”, or "URL restricted".
・Unfinished works (Original category only)
・Works that have been posted after the entry period has ended, or works that have been edited after the entry period has ended (including titles, captions, and outlines). This also includes minor edits to fix typos, etc.
・Works posted by companies or multiple creators.
・Works posted by underage contestants without the consent of a guardian.
・Works that violate pixiv's Terms of Use, Article 14 "Prohibited Conduct"
・Multiple postings of the same work.
・Works created via third-party commission, or via pixiv Requests (including request rewards).
・Any works based on existing work/goods, works/goods scheduled to be released, works/goods that have already been submitted for other contests, or works/goods that have already won other contests
・Works that violate the Application Guidelines
・When the contestant does not respond within a set time frame after being contacted by pixiv.
・Works that pixiv Inc. finds disagreeable with adequate reason may also be disqualified.
