The pixiv novels x Raichosha "Tiny Encyclopedia Series" Writing Project "Sweets" starts on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023.


This Writing Project is a collaboration with the "Tiny Encyclopedia" series from publisher Raichosha.

The second installment of this contest focuses on the volume "Encyclopedia of Sweets"

We're looking for stories connected to the theme "sweets".
There is no limit to the type of the content or genre, and incomplete works and/or one-shots are both welcome!

Shortcake, cookies, macarons, parfaits.
All the cutest sweets you love to nibble on carry deep cultural histories and traditions.
Why not try writing a story or scene inspired by anecdotes or illustrations featuring sweets?

Even if you don't use the word "sweets" directly, if your story is related to sweets, it is eligible for submission.
We're happy to read your stories about trick-or-treating and Halloween too!

Winners will be chosen via lottery from among the contestants. The two top winners will each receive a full "Tiny Encyclopedia" 10-volume set, while 10 more winners will be selected to receive the "Encyclopedia of Sweets" volume.

Entry Period:
From Tuesday, September 12th, 2023 to Sunday, November 5th, 2023, 11:59 pm JST


Theme:
Novels under the theme "sweets" will be accepted. The contents, genre, and other details of the setting are totally up to you.

How to Participate:
Please post your novel to pixiv and attach both the project tag "#執筆企画_菓の辞典" and at least one sub-theme tag to your novel. You can pick whichever tags you like.

Project tag (required): 執筆企画_菓の辞典

There isn't a required format (such as short stories or long forms) on the novel you submit (referred to as "contest entries"). The only requirement is that they be over 500 characters.

*You can submit works in series format, but each series will be treated as a single piece of work for the lottery.
*You can submit incomplete works.
*Only All-Ages works are accepted.
*Original work and fan fiction are both accepted.
*AI-generated work: works for which all or most of the production process was carried out by AI must be labeled as AI-generated work.
Each contestant is allowed to submit a maximum of one AI-generated work to this contest. Any additional AI-generated works submitted will not be eligible for the lottery.
*Only works that have been posted after Tuesday, September 12th, 2023, 0:00 JST will be eligible for the lottery.
* Contest entries may receive comments and stickers from the pixiv novels Editorial team's account.

Eligible Participants:
This contest is open to all registered pixiv users who have read and agreed to these terms and conditions.
* Entries from companies and multiple creators will not be accepted.
* Underage contestants should obtain the consent of a guardian before entering.

Contest Terms:
Works that fall under the conditions listed below may be disqualified.
・Not matching the theme of the contest
・Not having the contest tag attached
・Setting the privacy level of your entry to “My pixiv”, “Private”, or "URL restricted"
・Posting an entry rated R-18 or R-18G
・Reposting a previous illustration or not submitting your entry within the time frame of the contest
・Posting your entry before 11:59:59 pm JST on Monday, September 11th, 2023
・Entering the work in other novel-based projects (including contests) on services run by pixiv and by other companies at the same time
・Violating any of the rules listed in “Contest Terms”

Only winners will be informed of their victory after the contest period has ended by pixiv's official account, or otherwise the official accounts of pixiv-related services. Please note that if winners do not respond within a certain period of time after being contacted, they may not be able to receive their prizes.
