From September 21st, 2023, you will be able to search for novels by genre on the desktop and mobile versions of pixiv.

In addition, until now it was only possible to add genre tags to original series, but with this new update, you will also be able to add genre tags to one-shot original stories.

[How to search by genre]
In Search options, check "Only original works", then select a genre.
If you don't want to search by genre, select "All genres" to display search results that include works from every genre.



[How to set genres for one-shot works]
On the novel posting page or editing page, when you select "Original work", you can select a genre.
* Once this update takes effect, when you post a new one-shot original story, you will be required to select a genre.



[Regarding popular series]
The headings "Popular original series" on the pixiv Novels top page, as well as the "Popular series" headings listed by genre have been updated to "Popular original works" and "Popular works".
With this update, one-shot works and series will both be displayed together.
