As of July 30, English translations for titles and captions on the illustration posting page are available on the desktop version of pixiv.
This trial feature will initially be provided to some of those using the Japanese version of pixiv and will be available to more users later on. For this reason, some users will experience the new feature before others.
Adding an English translation to titles and captions
Adding English translations of titles and captions is completely optional. An automatic translation feature is provided to make it easy for users to add English translations.
The English translations you add will be displayed to all those who use pixiv in English. We hope you'll take advantage of this new feature to reach even more people with your art.
In the early days of pixiv, most of the active users were Japanese. Over the past few years, however, the number of registered foreign users has increased and users outside Japan now represent 40% of the entire active userbase.
Therefore, thanks to the English translation of Japanese titles and captions, we believe that foreign users will have an easier time understanding the setting and contents of Japanese works.
How to add English translations
1. Enter a title and caption for your illustration on the illustration posting page.
2. Click on "Add English translation for this title/caption", that will be displayed after completing step 1.
3. An English translation will be automatically added in the English section of the page.
* You may receive revision suggestions to improve the accuracy of your translation.
