About the automatic removal of some users on the pixiv Premium monthly credit card payment plan

We have posted an apology and announcement to users on the pixiv Premium monthly credit card payment plan. Please read it to check your status and learn about how to re-register.

Greetings from pixiv.

We have confirmed that an error has occurred, whereby some pixiv Premium user accounts on the pixiv Premium monthly credit card payment plan were automatically removed from the service.

We sincerely apologize for causing this major inconvenience to our users.

pixiv updated our billing cycle for the pixiv Premium monthly credit card payment plan from November 28th, 2022.

The current error was caused by the above update.
We are currently working to diagnose and fix the issues, but depending on the date on which you registered for pixiv Premium, your billing date will differ, so this problem may occur for you on any date up until the end of December.


Our current understanding of the issue is as follows.

■ It may depend on your registered credit card

Due to the above changes, your currently registered credit card may have failed to be accepted by pixiv Premium, causing your account to be removed from the service.

If there was no problem with your credit card, you may be able to delete your credit card information and re-register on pixiv Premium with the same credit card.

However, in some cases, it has not been possible for users to delete their information and re-register with the same credit card.
We are currently working on updates to the system to handle these cases.

If you want to start using pixiv Premium again right away, we suggest that you either try registering using a different credit card, or use a different payment method such as app payment or carrier pay (Japan only). We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

■ It may depend on your credit card company's fraud detection system

In some cases, fraud detection systems at credit card companies caused billing to fail to go through, and accounts were removed from the service as a result.

In these cases, you may be contacted by your credit card company, or you can inquire with the company. This may allow you to resume using our service with the same credit card. Again, we sincerely apologize for the trouble.

In our previous announcement, we stated, "There is no need for you to conduct any actions regarding this update", but this has turned out not to be the case for some users, for which we sincerely apologize.

We deeply regret the inconvenience caused by this issue. Thank you again for your understanding.
