pixiv to unveil Genshin Impact collaboration booth at Anime Expo 2023!

pixiv will exhibit a booth in collaboration with the popular game Genshin Impact and a standalone booth at Anime Expo 2023, which will take place in Los Angeles, California, from Saturday, July 1st to Tuesday, July 4th, 2023.

Anime Expo is the largest anime and manga event in North America. pixiv participated for the first time last year with a joint booth with Evangelion, where they engaged with American anime and manga fans. The company will participate with two booths this year, increasing its overall presence at the event.

Exhibition of Genshin Impact’s key visuals and live drawing sessions by popular illustrators
The pixiv x Genshin Impact collaboration booth, located within the animate USA booth (Exhibition Hall, No. 4506) will showcase the game's key visual and in-game scenery. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the game's world while participating in fun activities such as placing Primogem-shaped stickers on their favorite key visuals, all while looking back to their own adventures.

The fan art area of the booth will showcase approximately 80 illustrations, carefully hand-picked from about 250,000 Genshin Impact artworks posted on pixiv, a communication platform operated by pixiv Inc for sharing illustrations, manga, and novels.

In addition, the booth will be hosting live drawing sessions of Genshin Impact fan art by popular illustrators, as well as autograph signing sessions for each artist. The live drawing sessions will take place over four days, with Modare participating on July 1st (Sat) and July 2nd (Sun), and Oshioshio taking part on July 3rd (Mon) and July 4th (Tue). pixiv’s standalone booth to feature an Omikuji lottery with Artist Alley creators and a workshop in collaboration with iFace
pixiv’s standalone booth will be located in the Artist Alley.
The booth will be hosting an Omikuji (Japanese fortune-telling paper slips) lottery in collaboration with Artist Alley creators. Visitors who spend more than a certain amount at one of the booths in the Artist Alley will receive a fortune slip, which can be exchanged for prizes at pixiv’s booth. There are five different types of exclusive prizes, all available only at Anime Expo 2023. The more works of various creators one purchases, the more chances they have to win prizes. Everyone is encouraged to participate.

In addition, pixiv will host an iFace Deco-case workshop in collaboration with iFace, a mobile accessory brand with global sales of 29 million units, and "Artists in the Americas" an art book supervised by pixiv featuring works by 62 North and South American artists. This collaboration was made possible by a shared vision of supporting creators all over the world.
At the workshop, each participant will receive two stickers of their choice featuring artworks from “Artists in the Americas” that they can you to customize the iFace Reflection transparent glass smartphone case, by iFace. Participation is free, and anyone is welcome to join. Take the opportunity to discover and connect with new creators.

An Industry Panel to showcase pixiv’s initiatives to support international creators
On Sunday, July 2nd, and Monday, July 3rd, pixiv will be participating in the Industry Panel talk. At last year’s event, attracting over 200 attendees, pixiv presented alongside renowned North American-based creator Airi Pan. This year's event will delve into the global expansion of Japanese anime art and explore some examples of collaboration between pixiv and esteemed partner companies, with special guests Modare and Oshioshio. The specifics of each day's panels are detailed in the Industry Panel Overview section.

How to participate:
To participate in the signing sessions, please purchase the designated merchandise at the counter within the animate USA booth beginning at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 1st, and continuing until the start of each signing session. Please notify the staff of your interest to attend the signing session, and they will hand you an Autograph Session Ticket.

How to participate:
Visitors who spend more than a certain amount at one of the booths in the Artist Alley will be given a fortune slip that can be exchanged for one of five prizes at pixiv’s booth (No. AA01).

* Each fortune slip can only be exchanged once with the prize specified on the slip. There is no maximum number of attempts.
* The fortune slips and prizes are both limited in quantity and will only be available while supplies last.
* Some exhibitors may not participate in this project. Please check with each booth to confirm their participation in the Omikuji lottery.

How to participate:
The workshop will take place at pixiv's booth (AA01). Visitors can decorate an iFace Reflection transparent glass smartphone case with two stickers of their choice. Participants can take the case and stickers home with them after the workshop.

* The cases are only compatible with the iPhone 13 Pro/13 Pro Max/14 Pro/14 Pro Max. Case models are subject to change at any time.
* Each person can only participate once.

Industry Panel Overview

Sunday, July 2nd: “Rising Stars: Up-and-coming Creators in Asia”
The panel will focus on the activities of up-and-coming creators from Asia, including Taiwan and South Korea, who are expanding their global presence. In addition, the panel will discuss the growing interest in Japanese anime art in Asia and its increasing popularity in English-speaking countries, as well as introduce the Kickstarter collaboration between pixiv Inc. and the American publishing company Clover Press.

The panel will discuss the latest trends in Japanese anime art and its growing popularity in English-speaking countries, as well as introduce the art book "Artists in the Americas", a collaboration between pixiv Inc. and the publishing company PIE International. In response to the increasing number of freelance illustrators, the panel will discuss issues like how to find work and how to appeal to the Asian market.
