As detailed in the previous announcement released on June 29th, 2023, this feature was rolled out successively to an expanding group of users. Today, the feature is available to everyone on our platform. A feature allowing you to check your reading progress for novels will begin rolling out soon This feature saves and displays the reading progress for each novel you browse. When you read a novel, your progress is saved automatically. * Reading progress data will be saved only on your device and will not be automatically synced to other devices. We continued to update the reading progress feature based on opinions and requests from our community, to make the feature easier to use. We've added the following two updates since our previous announcement about this feature. However, some readers may want to start the novel again from the beginning, rather than pick up where they left off last time. To help them with this, we've added an "Undo" button to scroll back up to the beginning of the novel. Until now, you could use the [Shift + Enter] or [Alt + Enter] keyboard shortcuts to send messages, but the commands from these shortcuts have been changed from ""send message"" to ""insert line break"". * The existing shortcut [Ctrl + Enter] for sending messages has not been changed. In addition, the [Command + Enter] shortcut, which is used on many other platforms, has been added as a new shortcut for sending messages. Greetings from pixiv. Currently, we are working to solve the issue of users not being able to install or update the Android version of the pixiv app. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. In relation to this, on July 14th, 2023, we changed some features on both the iOS and Android apps. We are also making it a priority to address the issue where renewal payments for pixiv Premium memberships through the Android version of the pixiv app may have been automatically canceled by Google, resulting in the unsubscription from the service. We are sorry for keeping you waiting, we will post another announcement and contact you via e-mail about this matter at a later date. The changes to the app will apply to all users who have downloaded the app, regardless they update the app or not. ■ Everyone using the iOS or Android pixiv app Regardless of how the image was created, any realistic illustrations or manga depicting children that can be mistaken as photography will be hidden in both the iOS and Android pixiv app. pixiv has always taken measures to remove and address works that violate the Terms of Use and Guidelines, including images primarily based on real-life photographs or photo-realistic images that are deemed to have sexual intent. However, due to a significant increase in the number of such artworks, our capacity for review has been strained, resulting in some of these artworks being displayed in the app and putting our app in conflict with the app stores' guidelines. In response to this issue, we have decided to hide all illustrations and manga that depict children realistically on the app, since these media have been found to be particularly prone to violations. ■ People who have set the iOS or Android pixiv app not to display R-18 works Works containing sexual content that is deemed to not be in violation of the app stores' guidelines will not be displayed to those who set their app to not show any R-18 work. Users who have their app set to display R-18 works will continue to be able to browse said works. A dedicated thumbnail will be displayed in place of those works, as well as for the previously mentioned illustrations and manga depicting children in a realistic manner. ▼ Check this article to learn more about browsing restrictions I would like to view age-restricted content (R-18/R-18G) ■ Everyone using the Android pixiv app We have confirmed multiple instances of malicious usage where captions or profile pages direct users to URLs that contain highly explicit content. As a response to this issue, if a URL is included in the illustration/manga details page or profile page, that specific text area containing the URL will no longer be displayed. The work and profile page will continue to be normally displayed otherwise. This is a temporary countermeasure and we will consider improvements to enhance the overall experience once the issue is resolved. We will continue to address the issues at hand in order for pixiv to be a comfortable place for everyone. We are still in the process of investigating and dealing with this situation. Thumbnails of works that you have muted will no longer appear in your search results

Greetings from pixiv. As of July 6th, 2023, the display method for muted works on the search results page has been updated on the mobile and desktop versions of pixiv. Until now, if you muted a tag or the works of a certain creator, those works would continue to appear in your search results but with a blank thumbnail. With this new update, even the blank thumbnail will not appear. As a result, if any muted works are hits in your search results, there will be fewer works displayed on the corresponding page. *The blank thumbnail will continue to appear as usual on pages other than the search results pages, such as profile pages. *This display method for muted works has already been implemented on the app version of pixiv. Greetings from pixiv. From June 15th, 2023, we're expanding access to the new manga viewer on the mobile version of pixiv, which was previously available to only a portion of our users. We debuted this viewer in December of last year, and it is already available to everyone on the desktop version of pixiv. The manga viewer design has been updated, to make it easier to read manga pages in side-to-side book format. This new viewer was rolled out on the mobile version of pixiv in stages, so we could get feedback and requests from our users, and adjust it accordingly. We are pleased to announce that the adjustments we made are finally complete, so access to the new viewer will be expanded to all pixiv mobile users within a few days. The new viewer contains a "Like" button, as well as buttons to jump back and forth between episodes. pixiv to unveil Genshin Impact collaboration booth at Anime Expo 2023!

Greetings from pixiv. pixiv will exhibit a booth in collaboration with the popular game Genshin Impact and a standalone booth at Anime Expo 2023, which will take place in Los Angeles, California, from Saturday, July 1st to Tuesday, July 4th, 2023. Anime Expo is the largest anime and manga event in North America. pixiv participated for the first time last year with a joint booth with Evangelion, where they engaged with American anime and manga fans. The company will participate with two booths this year, increasing its overall presence at the event. Exhibition of Genshin Impact’s key visuals and live drawing sessions by popular illustrators The pixiv x Genshin Impact collaboration booth, located within the animate USA booth (Exhibition Hall, No. 4506) will showcase the game's key visual and in-game scenery. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the game's world while participating in fun activities such as placing Primogem-shaped stickers on their favorite key visuals, all while looking back to their own adventures. The fan art area of the booth will showcase approximately 80 illustrations, carefully hand-picked from about 250,000 Genshin Impact artworks posted on pixiv, a communication platform operated by pixiv Inc for sharing illustrations, manga, and novels. In addition, the booth will be hosting live drawing sessions of Genshin Impact fan art by popular illustrators, as well as autograph signing sessions for each artist. The live drawing sessions will take place over four days, with Modare participating on July 1st (Sat) and July 2nd (Sun), and Oshioshio taking part on July 3rd (Mon) and July 4th (Tue). Repeatedly posting works/information that copy the artistic style of a specific third party as prank or for malicious purposes, or engaging in other activities that the Company deems could be detrimental to the creative identity or professional activities of a third party

Activities that damage the reputation, trust, etc. of a third party

Defamation, sedition, or aggression based on hate, prejudice, or intolerance

Impersonating a company account, another user, or other third party, or engaging in activity that the Company deems could be construed as impersonation

Other activities that could have a severe impact on the Service and users’ experiences

We’ve added clauses prohibiting impersonation or similar conduct using AI programs, and conduct related to the posting of massive volumes of content in order to monopolize page space. We have also clarified our policy with regard to defamation and slander. Such activity was already prohibited in the Terms of Use, but we have now made the wording clearer in the Guidelines, as well. Users bear responsibility for the repercussions of all their own activities and post content on the Service, regardless of the software, tools, programs, or conditions/processes used, and regardless of whether the activities/posts were made willfully or out of negligence. Users are asked to exercise careful judgment about whether their activities are socially acceptable, regardless of whether or not the activities are in violation of the Guidelines, Terms of Use, etc.

We’ve added a new clause clarifying the responsibilities of users when posting works on pixiv. Even if a work was generated by an AI program by coincidence, if we deem that it bears an overly strong similarity to a specific pre-existing work and violates the Guidelines on prohibited posts, the user who posted the work must bear responsibility for the work. We’ve clarified the clause prohibiting sexual depictions of minors that could be mistaken for real-life photography. About AI-generated Work The content related to AI-generated work that we posted in previous announcements and in the Help section has now been added to the Guidelines. We’ve also added some additional content in response to our observations of actual usage patterns on our services.

The following types of work must be labeled as AI-generated work, regardless of the software or tools used to create the work, or other modes of use/processes.

As already detailed in previous announcements and in the Help section, all posts for which all or most of the creative process was carried out by AI must be labeled as “AI-generated”.

Works that are not labeled as AI-generated may be automatically labeled as such by the Company, at the Company’s discretion, based on these guidelines, in cases where the Company can objectively judge based on the usage status of the work that the work was generated by AI.

If we check the usage status of the work and find good cause to believe that the work was AI generated, we may add the AI-generated tag to the work automatically. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Recent technological developments have made malicious activity and other activity that could be detrimental to third parties much easier to enact.
